First Lutheran is a biblical, traditional, and liturgical community of believers who have been bought by the blood of Jesus, born from the waters of Holy Baptism, forged by the sanctifying fire of the Holy Spirit, and gathered around Sacred Scripture, Prayer, and the Lord's Supper. Through such means Jesus seeks to draw all people to Himself, to forgive sins, to grant life, and to sanctify His people for a life of love and service toward the neighbor. First Lutheran is a confessional and liturgical congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
